A cut, a pimple that bursts or a period in the middle of the night can cause blood stains on our clothes or our bed.
Fortunately, today it is much easier than in the past to remove these organic residues from clothes and fabrics. But how? Very easy. You just need to know a few tricks and compare them for their great effectiveness.
How to remove dried blood stains Blood stains have a reputation for being very difficult to remove, but when it comes to dried blood stains, the problem is greater. We try to dispel this myth by explaining which are the best products to clean dried and fresh blood stains.
In the case of blood stains, a lot depends on the material on which the drop has fallen. Now, if we want to highlight a false myth that will make it practically impossible to remove the stain: use hot water.
Hot water acts as a coagulant, which makes it concentrate and adhere more to the surface and makes cleaning more difficult. Likewise, dried blood, although it seems easier to clean, is not. With blood, the sooner we act, the greater the chances of success.
In any fabric, speed is the key to the effectiveness of any blood cleaning method. And it is important to treat the garment before cleaning it because it can stick to the clothes.
For ordinary clothes, which are not delicate, the most effective is to soak them in cold water and soap them, rubbing the area well so that it does not curl.
Toothpaste
If it is a delicate piece of fabric (such as a silk blouse or dress), it is better to forget about hydrogen peroxide. We could run the risk of burning our heads. For this type of fabric, the most recommended is classic toothpaste, without additives or dyes.
Therefore, it is applied directly to the affected area and edges, letting it dry and then rinsing it well with cold water. It should only be rubbed when the garment has finally been washed.
If you are not at home, try wetting the stain with very cold sparkling water, we will solve the problem before you return home.
Coarse salt to remove blood stains can also be used on dark clothing such as jeans. If the stain is recent, a good trick is to wash it with water and salt by soaking the garment in cold water to which a little coarse salt is added.
