In this video we are going to talk about adipose tissue, better known as body fat. Adipose tissue is made up of cells called adipocytes, which have the function of storing energy in the form of fat.
Although fat is necessary for the proper functioning of our body, it can sometimes form small balls of fat called lipomas, which are benign growths of adipose tissue cells.
These can appear in virtually any organ of the body, although they are most common in the subcutaneous layer, just under the skin.
