Proteinuria refers to an excess of protein in the urine. In healthy kidneys, protein is retained in the blood, but damaged filters (glomeruli) allow leakage into the urine.

Symptoms of Proteinuria:

Persistent foamy or frothy urine.
Swelling in the hands, feet, abdomen, or face (edema).
Fatigue or lethargy.
Unexplained weight gain.
