Chicken Rolls with Ham and Cheese.

Step 3: Adding the Filling
Lay each coated fillet flat on a clean surface. Place a slice of Gouda or Emmental  cheese and a slice of cooked ham in the center of each chicken fillet. If your fillets are on the smaller side, you can trim the cheese and ham so they fit without overflowing.

Step 4: Rolling and Securing the Chicken Rolls
Gently roll up each fillet around the cheese and ham, starting from one end and rolling tightly to encase the filling. Once rolled, secure each chicken roll with toothpicks to prevent it from unrolling during cooking.

Step 5: Preparing to Bake
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Take a baking tray and drizzle it with a little extra virgin olive oil to prevent the rolls from sticking. Arrange the chicken rolls on the tray, leaving some space between each to allow for even cooking.

Step 6: Baking the Chicken Rolls
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes. Check after 20 minutes to ensure the rolls are not overbrowning; they should have a golden, crispy coating by the end of the baking time.

Step 7: Resting and Serving
Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and let the chicken rolls rest for a few minutes. This rest period allows the cheese inside to cool slightly and makes for a cleaner slice if you plan to cut them. Remove the toothpicks carefully before serving, and arrange the rolls on a platter.
